Transmog Time: Use The Force

I've been riding the Star Wars hype train lately. I thought it was brilliant when Blizzard decided to dress up the Orgrimmar and Stormwind guards with "lightsabers" to commemorate the release of the Force Awakens. In all my years of playing WoW, I always thought those swords were really awesome looking. I never did receive one not did I actively go looking for one since it was never something I wanted to spend my gold on. As if it was meant to be, Saturday I received a Blade of Wizardry from my salvage yard. This got me to thinking about putting together a Jedi master and a Sith transmog.

The Dark Side

Helm: Thistlefur Cap
Shoulders: Laughing Skull Shoulderpads
Chest: Silver-Thread Armor
Cloak: Blackmetal Cape
Gloves: Silver-Thread Gloves
Belt: Sash of Whispered Secrets
Legs: Silver-Thread Pants
Boots: Veteran's Dreadweave Stalkers
WoWHead Set Link

Of course for this set, the weapon of choice is the Blade of Wizardry or Teebu's Blazing Longsword. Some off-hand items that may fit well are:
Spring Gadget (Horde only, sorry) - Looks like a remote you can use to "control" a droid.
Rod of Molten Fire - The perfect torture device for your Rebel scum prisoners.
Drakestone - Yes, let the hate flow inside this little red orb.

The Light Side

Helm: Resilient Cap
Shoulders: Resilient Mantle
Chest: Durable Robe
Cloak: Mammoth Fur Cloak
Gloves: Gloves of Purification
Belt: Bright Belt
Boots: Nat Pagle's Extreme Anglin' Boots
Shirt: Yellow Lumberjack Shirt
WoWHead Set Link

This weapon is a little easier to get since the Spellfire Longsword drops from The Slave Pens. Don't forget to get yourself a Lil' Bling to act as your protocol droid during your adventures through the galaxy! Here are a few other off-hand items you could use to complete your look:
Cosmos: You're going to need a planetary map to help navigate through deep space.
Tesseract Timepiece: A little more difficult to get, but I think it looks like some space age shield.
Surplus Limb: Everyone knows that most Jedi are prone to having limbs cut off, so why get rid of it when you can carry it around with you? (Ok, I know, bad joke!)

As always, these are for cloth wearers, and I try to use items that would be more easily available to all players. If you have any other Star Wars related transmog, please leave a comment below. I always love seeing what everyone puts together. Oh, and one last thing before I go... May the Force be with you!

Transmog Time: Gilnean Noble

I had wanted to do this post for a while now, but I figured I should wait until the Darkmoon Faire was in town to do so. A long time, I was looking for the perfect set for my Gilnean warlock that I roleplay with. I was sad at the time because there was nothing in game that looked like that aside from the starting robes that the priest, mage, and warlocks have, and a shirt you can buy in Dalaran.

I guess you can expect how overjoyed I was when Blizzard finally added the set into game. I worked my butt off that week to buy all the pieces and put together what I think it the perfect Gilnean noble transmog.

Helm: Eye of Flame
WoWHead Set Link

Another choice for helm if you're using this set for a bank alt or just RP purposes would be the High Society Top Hat. I still prefer my monocle though! My weapon of choice is usually the Rosethorn Staff but as always there are many other options! The entire noble set can be purchased from Chester at the Darkmoon Faire for 205 tickets. There is also a lovely set for the ladies.

During WoD there were other colored versions of the nobleman and noblewoman sets that were data-mined. I can only hope that these are eventually added because my worgen definitely needs more of this stuff in his closet!

Transmog Time: Link from The Legend of Zelda

Back before the world revamp for Cataclysm, Un'Goro Crater housed a ton of Nintendo references. You could find an NPC named Linken that would give out a few quests that had some pretty unique rewards. I still have my Faded Photograph, but none of the other items. Linken can now be found as one of the random party members that joins you during The Protectors of Hyjal daily.

image from WoWpedia
Last month, I ordered The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I didn't even get a chance to play it yet since I've been finishing up Yoshi's New Island in between redoing my Animal Crossing: New Leaf town. It's no secret that I've been a fan of the Zelda games since I owned my Nintendo way back when I was a small child, and one of my all time favorite games is Ocarina of Time. I know a lot of people tend to do a Mario transmog, but I hardly ever see anyone doing one of Link. As always, this is catered to cloth wearers, and I think it looks wonderful on humans and blood elves!

Helm: Feralfen Hood
Shoulders: Resilient Mantle
Boots: Resilient Boots
Main Hand: Azuresong Mageblade
Off-Hand: Khadgar's Knapsack (for your Rupees, of course!)
WoWHead Set Link

As a few more things to make the look a bit more authentic, I suggest using the Nordrassil Wisp mini pet that can be caught in Mount Hyjal; It makes for a great looking Navi! I used WoWmodel Viewer to be able to mount an Alliance mount on the Blood Elf, but they have plenty of other horse options for you to pick from. I think this look is perfect for any adventurer who wants to take down the evil Gannon... er, I mean Garrosh!

Transmog Time: Cosmetic Helms

Since the Blizzard store cosmetic helms are on sale this week, I decided to do another transmog post for them. Each helm is currently on sale for $10 (USD) until May 20th, and they can be purchased by clicking on the banner below! I think I want one, but I haven't decided which one I will pick up yet.

I really don't like doing two transmog posts back to back, but since the other one was more of a farming guide, I guess I can let it slide. I also like to try to find items that will be available to all classes, races, and faction. I hope you enjoy!

I actually thought that this one would be the hardest one for me to find things to match with since it's so black and extremely red. I found a lot of the Mists of Pandaria gear matches really well with it, but I know that not everyone is able to get into heroics for just transmog gear, so I settled for pieces much easier to get.

Helm: Hood of Hungering Darkness

This was the hardest one for me to match. I started three different times before I decided on going with this. I was going to end up purchasing this to go along with my Tier 3, but I'm glad I didn't because it doesn't really match.

This set is my favorite out of all three, and so far the best candidate for the helm I may buy. With these big horns, you're sure to feel like some fire breathing demon from the Twisting Nether.

Gloves: Ritual Gloves
Bracers: Mindthrust Bracers (if you can justify using twink bracers for Transmog)
Belt: Cincture of Polarity
WoWHead Set Link

As always, I cater to cloth wearers, but feel free to share some pictures in the comments section of your plate, mail, or leather wearer making these helms work in a transmog! Thank you!

Transmog Time: Illidari Conjurer

This week has been a bit crazy. I wasn't going to blog, but since things have calmed down, I had the chance to. I've been sick with a terrible cold so I haven't been doing much of anything but taking medicine and sleeping. If this post seems a bit strange, blame it on all those potions the alchemist have been making me take!

Illidari Conjurer

I am a complete sucker when it comes to those cloaks from Black Temple. I have all three and use them whenever I can. This is the first of 3 Illidari themed transmogs I planned out. I've already worn two, but I'm still working on pieces of the third. I believe I need to get exalted with the Aldors. /sigh

Shoulders: Hatefury Mantle
Chest:  Elder's Robe
Weapon: Headmaster's Charge (not available anymore, but plenty of lookalikes!) - As always, use what you want for your weapons. I think this staff looks the best though.

With my Eye of the Legion
I like to wear this set with the Lavender Mageweave Shirt. It's the same color as the robe so it blends in nicely. Sometimes I also wear the Purple Trophy Tabard of the Illidari also to add another layer to the transmog. The robe is so pretty that I don't always like to cover it though. The only thing missing is a Feldrake. I think it would have topped off this transmog nicely. Perhaps one day!

Journey to Tier 3

Sadly, I was not around to raid original Naxx. If you've read previous entries, you should know how I feel about the gear that dropped there... some of my favorites. While I am happy that most of the original weapons made an appearance back into the WotLK version of Naxx, I am still not happy about the lack of some of the beautiful robes from there. However, I do feel that the Frostfire Regalia is one of the most beautiful mage sets ever made!

from WoWwiki
I know it's not fair to those who legitimately raided to get their Tier 3, but I don't think being able to buy it off the BMAH devalues your set in any way. You still have your memories and hopefully screenshots to remember your wipes and kills by. I respect that 100%, and I admire you for being a pack-rat like me and keeping your tier!

I really didn't always play fair with the bidding either. I was outbid a good bit of the time, but then an Ally mage made a mistake by showing me how bad they wanted a few pieces, so I made them pay quite a bit more than what it usually goes for on my server. I ended up purposely bidding up pieces - it was great. If you want it that bad, you will pay the higher price.

Here is my journey to getting my Tier 3 and how much it has cost me, and how long it took to get there. *huge breath*

Frostfire Gloves - Bought on 3.30.13 for 10k
Frostfire Belt - Bought on 6.23.13 for 11k
Frostfire Sandals - Bought on 7.22.13 for 10k
Frostfire Shoulderpads - Bought on 8.24.13 for 30k
Frostfire Circlet - Bought on 8.31.13 for 30k
Frostfire Bindings - Bought 10.5.13 for 10k
Frostfire Leggings - Bought 10.14.13 for 10k
Frostfire Robe - Bought 12.25.13 for 50k

TOTAL: 161k

If you want a similar look without having to break your bank, you can always opt for collecting the Heroes' Frostfire Garb from the 10 man Naxx raid, or the Valorous Frostfire Garb from the 25 man Naxx raid. Both are very pretty, and I wore the brown set for quite a long time.

So after 9 months of collecting, I really have nothing else to say about it except that I am extremely happy with my purchase and the last piece couldn't have come at a better time! I will definitely be wearing this transmog for a LOOOONG time to come!

Transmog Time: Hallow's End Costumes

Since October is right around the corner, I have some pretty cool things planned for each week. I wanted to get things started with a few Hallow's End costume transmogs for cloth wearers, and some other odd items that would make for spooky additions to your collection! This is my favorite in game holiday (just like Halloween is my favorite IRL). I tried to use items that are available for everyone and not too difficult to farm if you need to. Plus, you could always find some items on the AH. Here we go!

Witch

Shoulders: Thuzadin Mantle
Belt: Fishy Cinch
Weapon: Farmer's Broom - yes I realize this item cannot be transmogged, but how cool is it to run around with your own spooky looking broom!
Extra: I like to keep out the Feline Familiar since it's perfect for a witch costume. Also, if you get the Broom mounts from the Hallows End, you can mount on it and the pet will do the same on its own little broom!
WoWhead Set Link

Dark Conjurer

Helm: Chief Architect's Monocle
Shoulders: Black Mageweave Shoulders | Soulstealer Mantle
Cloak: Blackmetal Cape
Chest: Robes of Arugal
Gloves: Magefist Gloves
Belt: Sash of Whispered Secrets
Boots: Silver-Thread Boots
Weapon: Blade of the Unrequited
Off-Hand: Skull of Burning Shadows
Extra: Since this set mimics the Necropile Raiment which is no longer available, I thought using the Restless Shadeling would also give the illusion to another item that is no longer available; Haunted Memento.
WoWhead Set Link

Harvester of Souls

Helm: Thistlefur Cap
Shoulders: Duskhallow Mantle
Cloak: Warmonger's Cloak
Chest: Robes of Rhonin
Gloves: Gloves of the Blood Prince
Belt: Runed Stygian BeltCincture of Polarity
Boots: Saltarello Shoes
Weapon: Telaari Polearm | Grim Scythe
Extra: I think I would use the Ghostly Skull mini pet with this costume. After all the grinding out you will do for the scythe, you won't need anything fancier!
WoWhead Set Link

Ghostly Figure

Helm: Aurora Cowl | Cowl of Benevolence
Shoulders: Amice of Brilliant Light
Cloak: Formidable Cape
Chest: Aurora Robes
Gloves: Bloody Surgeon's Mitts - gives the illusion of having bloody fingertips!
Belt: Replica Virtuous Belt
Boots: Sage's Boots | Replica Virtuous Sandals
Weapon: Starlight Dagger
Off-Hand: Urn of Lost Memories
Extra: I would use the Lost of Lordaeron mini pet to follow you around. Also, to give yourself a true "ghostly" effect, use either Ethereal Oil or Ai-Li's Skymirror to complete the look!
WoWhead Set Link
Genie

Helm: Mystical Headwrap
Shoulders: Mantle of the Locusts
Cloak: Chromatic Cloak - Since this cloak would take some grinding to get made, personally I wouldn't even show a cloak with this set.
Chest: Robe of the Magi
Gloves: Gloves of Meditation
Belt: High Councillor's Sash
Boots: Elder's Boots
Weapon: Nightstaff of the Everling
Extra: For this costume I would definitely be using my Magic Lamp while riding around on Frosty Flying Carpet for a mount!
WoWhead Set Link

Other Creepy Items
Armor:
Spider Robes (1, 2, 3, and 4)
Corruptor Raiment (Warlock T5 Recolor)
Robes of Umbral Brute
Cloak of Armed Strife
Dark Shroud of the Scourge

Weapons:
Charmed Cierge
Zhar'doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer
Staff of the Shadow Flame
Necromantic Wand
Eerie Stable Lantern
Surplus Limb
Manual of the Nethermancer
Book of the Dead

I haven't decided on what I will make Velgana wear yet. If you decide to dress up your toon this year, I'd love to have a look. Feel free to leave a comment below! 22 Days until Hallows End, and I cannot wait!

Transmog Time: Fel Flame Caster

I guess I'm what you could call a bit of a "transmog snob". I'm generally not impressed with what most people put together, because it just doesn't match. I had a freak out a month or so ago when it seemed like every single Shaman on my server was wearing Tier 6.... seriously. I couldn't tell anyone apart!

So while taking a look at my banks and what to wear next, I figured I should start posting my sets, pictures of them, where to get each piece, and loo-a-likes if they aren't available anymore.

Fel Flame Caster

It was a long time in the making. I had started gathering the pieces when I got the headpiece from Ambassador Flamelash. I always wanted those robes too, but I never had any luck of the ones to drop from Entropius. Finally Robes of Faltered Light dropped, and I was able to use a Sunmote to trade them in for the one I wanted. While I think it would look good with any cloth caster, I think it would look amazing with a warlock!

My current weapon is a wand, but I always prefer one handed swords for a caster. I think the sword and off-hand below look a lot better. I'm hoping next patch there is a good caster sword I can get and double upgrade to keep until the next expansion!

The shirt I'm wearing underneath is the Sawbones Shirt, but it's currently not available in game. You can substitute it with Red Linen Shirt, Red Workman Shirt, Stylish Red Shirt and even the Green Linen Shirt looks wonderful.

Helm: Circle of Flame
Shoulders: Mantle of Three Terrors
Cloak: Drape of Fuming Anger
Chest: Robes of Ghostly Hatred
Gloves: Feralfen Hand
Belt: Captain Sanders' Sash
Boots: Greenweave Sandals
Weapon: Torch of Austen (wand) | Muramasa (sword)
Off-Hand: Heart of the Pit | Book of Highborne Hymns
