Transmog Time: Gilnean Noble

I had wanted to do this post for a while now, but I figured I should wait until the Darkmoon Faire was in town to do so. A long time, I was looking for the perfect set for my Gilnean warlock that I roleplay with. I was sad at the time because there was nothing in game that looked like that aside from the starting robes that the priest, mage, and warlocks have, and a shirt you can buy in Dalaran.

I guess you can expect how overjoyed I was when Blizzard finally added the set into game. I worked my butt off that week to buy all the pieces and put together what I think it the perfect Gilnean noble transmog.

Helm: Eye of Flame

Another choice for helm if you're using this set for a bank alt or just RP purposes would be the High Society Top Hat. I still prefer my monocle though! My weapon of choice is usually the Rosethorn Staff but as always there are many other options! The entire noble set can be purchased from Chester at the Darkmoon Faire for 205 tickets. There is also a lovely set for the ladies.

During WoD there were other colored versions of the nobleman and noblewoman sets that were data-mined. I can only hope that these are eventually added because my worgen definitely needs more of this stuff in his closet!

Blog Azeroth: Questing With Alts

A few weeks ago, I wrote up a blog post all about my alts since I never really talk about them. This week's topic on Blog Azeroth seemed to go hand and hand with that topic.

"What sort of method do you use for leveling the multiple alts? Do you follow the same quest chains each time, do you avoid a certain quest section, do you only dungeon, etc.?"

I've always said that I really do enjoy the leveling process. I've been enjoying it a bit more since I decided to level up my first Alliance character fully. I'm really excited to go back and do as many of the low level quests as I can, and complete the Alliance side of the Argent Tournament for the mounts. However, I have been finding leveling feeling more and more tedious with the more alts I have. I'm also not one to queue up for dungeons since random groups usually suck. I stay as far away as possible. Here are some of the ways I try to keep leveling fresh for myself.

Questing

I usually fully complete a character's starting zone. After that, I usually alternate between where I start to quest. If my previous character started in Kalimdor, then I'm heading toward the Eastern Kingdoms or vice versa. There aren't many areas that I skip simply because with the old world revamp many quest lines have become fun and many zones have a wonderful story. I suggest going back and fully completing Silverpine Forest and Stonetalon Mountains if you are Horde!

Heirlooms & Guild Perks

I used to be one of those people who didn't believe in using heirlooms, but my view has changed. Now I try to buy bits and pieces when I have enough Justice Points or gold saved up. They really do help out a ton. I also have my own level 25 guild so the perk Fast Track also helps a bit.

Darkmoon Faire

I also take advantage of the Darkmoon Faire when it's in town. The silly looking Darkmoon Top Hat can be a lifesaver! Too bad it don't stick around after the Faire is gone. If you don't have enough tickets to buy on or aren't lucky enough to get one in a Darkmoon Game Prize, you can ride the Darkmoon Carousel for a quick buff, but be warned... it doesn't last through death. :(
The "stylish" Darkmoon Faire Top Hat!

XP Potions

Lastly, I had no idea until a few months ago about the Elixir of Ancient Knowledge. I managed to get one randomly from killing Archiereus of Flame from the Timeless Isle. I ended up using it on my Warlock. After doing some research, I found out it also has a chance to drop from Krol the Blade in the Dread Wastes. He's pretty heavily camped on my server, but if I see him while I'm randomly flying around, I kill him. Sadly I haven't been lucky enough to get another one of these potions.

While these methods may not be the best for leveling up, they seem to work perfectly for me. I also use some Archaeology and Pandaria Lost Treasures. They don't give any boost to experience, but they do help me until I get a better item to replace it.
Ignore the pet battle junk.
I also like getting cloth and items to vendor while leveling up. Having a good bit of gold when you hit max level is always nice! As long as I have these little perks to help in the leveling process, I'll be alright to keep questing on!

Oddities Around Azeroth

In keeping with the spooky theme for this month, I decided to sit back, go through every zone, and find some things that I think are pretty creepy. Next time you're in some of these areas, I hope you will take the time to look around and notice some of these things.

Due to the tons of pictures and my descriptions, I decided to put this behind a cut. Grab a warm apple/pumpkin cider, a sticky tricky treat, and enjoy!

Moonfang is Here!

Greeting everyone! I'm done with a long day of playing around at the Darkmoon Faire. I hung out with some people from Skywall, drowned myself to visit the ghost around the Darkmoon Isle, and hunted down Moonfang!

As of me writing this blog post, I've killed Moonfang a total of 12 times! Here is my loot breakdown (minus the 3 times I didn't get loot) :
Moonfang's Pelt x1 - I think you get this on your first kill. It's a quest turn in.
Moonfang Shroud x2
Moon Moon x2 - I kept one and the other one went to my boyfriend!
Moonfang's Paw x2 - This is the item that transforms you into a wolf. There is another Paw that is a fist weapon!
Shimmering Moonstone x2

So after being there all day, I know that people really don't understand how Moonfang spawns. I ended up explaining it to a few people since trade is mostly very unhelpful and full of elitist idiots. Anyway, yes Moonfang will spawn every hour, but no, it's not really at a set time because it all depends on if the wolves are being killed and how fast.

First you will be looking for the smaller non-elite Moonfang Snarler's to spawn.
About a handful of them will spawn around the wooded area on the side where Moonfang will spawn. Your goal is to kill these in order to start the next step of the event. After all of these are killed, some text will pop up in the middle of your screen.

Beware: "Moonfang Dreadhowls roam the woods!"
I think about six or so of the Moonfang Dreadhowl's will spawn, but only two or three have to be killed in order for the next part of the event to happen. After the Moonfang Dreadhowl's are down, some more text will pop up stating that Moonfang has spawned!

"Beware: Den Mother Moonfang has appeared in the woods!"
The fight is not incredibly difficult, but if you're a softie clothie like me, you probably will die. /cries All I have to say is thank goodness that the graveyard isn't far away! If you're having trouble finding the spot, just look for all the skeletons! Moonfang's kill/loot system is just like the Timeless Isle rares. Anyone who attacks her will be eligible to loot her! I can only hope they make the Darkmoon Rabbit like that... anyway...

"Moonfang, Den Mother of Darkmoon Island, has been slain!"

Also, don't worry if you don't get any loot. It's not a bug... you just didn't get anything. Moonfang doesn't drop any vendor trash so either you will get one of the goodies from her loot table or nothing at all. As of October 7th, Moonfang will always drop something when defeated! And if you get an item to drop that you already have and can't pick it up, the good old Postmaster will mail it to you just in case!

I hope you all had a successful first day just like I did. If not, don't worry, the Darkmoon Faire lasts an entire week so you should have time to get all the goodies that you want! :)

Bear butts!
