Expansion Memories

The end of the month is nearing. This has been a wonderful celebration, and I loved sitting down and thinking back on all the great memories this game has brought to me over the past 10 years! Before we bring this celebration to a close, I have one more post dedicated to my favorite memories from each expansion. Though not all of the expansions were as good as I would have liked them to be, I always try to make the best of things. I still continue to play this way to this day.

Burning Crusade

It's hard for me to say this is my all time favorite expansion, but it is a definite favorite because it was when I started playing the game. I raided in a top guild on my server, and I have great and frustrating memories of raid progression. The one kill that meant the most to me was Leotheras the Blind in SSC because it felt like we were stuck on him forever! On the night we were finally able to down him, I got an amazing sword that I kept with my up until the wardrobe was released! I also have really fond memories of doing dailies on the Isle of Quel'Danas when Sunwell was released. Me and Pigletoos felt like badasses once we became exalted and were able to afford those expensive (for the time) titles!

Wrath of the Lich King

I hear so many great things about this expansion, but to be honest, I took a long break during this one. I don't have as many memories during this time, but the ones I do have are pretty fun. I think this expansion event was one of my all time favorites. I loved seeing the necropolis popping up outside each major city and having the plague spread. I'm pretty sure I was one of the first to be infected on my server. I was in Undercity at the time I turned into a zombie. I managed to escape through the sewers and made it to Brill where I was sadly killed. After that, I spent most of my time in Shattrath City so I wouldn't be infected in the faction cities. The only other memory I have is spending way too much time in the Dalaran Sewers trying to fish up that ugly Giant Sewer Rat!

Cataclysm

During this expansion, my play style changed as I began to focus more on solo content and collecting. The addition of LFR definitely helped me become super casual. I have no regrets about that at all. This is the expansion where I got lucky in getting quite a few rare mount drops (Alar, TLPD, Aeonaxx) and this kick started a new obsession with mount collecting. Other than that, the only other memorable thing was being out in the world and coming back to a burning corpse because Deathwing passed over the zone. *sigh* This is also the expansion where most of my guild started playing. They definitely picked a perfect time as I think Cataclysm definitely turned the game to something newer players could easily set foot into.

Mists of Pandaria

I know a lot of people hated this expansion because LOLPANDAS, but sitting back and looking over everything, this is my all time favorite expansion. Everything was unique, looked so different, and the lore for the zones was really awesome. It seemed everywhere I turned I was either stopping to take a screenshot or to appreciate all the little details that was put into areas. During this time, my guild also began running things with me and Pigletoos. I also have really fond memories of us on the Timeless Isle. The day that it was released, I spent 12 hours online! Many other nights there I spent with my friends chatting and waiting for rare spawns to pop up (Huolon up!). The entire expansion was just wonderful in my eyes, and I often go back to those zones to relax and listen to the music.

Warlords of Draenor

As I said in my opening, despite an expansion not being so fun, I still try to make the best of it. While Warlords was probably my least favorite, I give props to Blizzard for telling a very good story through the questing in each zone. Sadly the end game suffered. I took advantage of garrisons and turned them into "gold farms". This expansion also gave me a chance to branch out with alts and focus on starting to roleplay with my worgen warlock. If I was too busy at the time, I don't think things would have worked out as well as they did. Once Tanaan Jungle came out, I do have fun memories of me and my guild doing our dailies late at night and pulling so much stuff! I can hear Rey screaming "RUN RUN!" over voice chat and us falling into the fel only to die a few seconds later. I live for silly moments like that.

I'm not going to put Legion on here since we're still in this expansion and there are still more things to experience. Of course there will be a post for that later on! Again, I want to thank you all for sticking with me during this month. I hope whether you're an older follower or a new one, I made you stop and think back on some memories you may have. Once again another successful celebration has happened, and I look forward to doing something again next year!

Music to my Ears: WoW Soundtracks

I am one of those people who always plays WoW with my all the sound on. My boyfriend, on the other hand, usually never has his music on. The reason is that he usually likes to listen to his own music while he raids or does dailies. While I was up extremely late one night, I decided that I would listen to all of the soundtracks, pick out my favorite songs, and talk about them. It took me about a week to listen to everything, but it wasn't anything difficult. I ended up flying around and doing some Archaeology while giving my ears a treat! I tried to keep it to my two or three favorites off each album otherwise I'd just have you listen to it all (which you should do anyway!)

My soundtrack collection. I'm missing the original one.
I've included iTunes links to buy each album. Always support the artist, guys! Anyway, let's start out with the original and classic soundtrack.

Track 7: Season of War
I never played Alliance, but upon hearing this song, I immediately thought of a Human Paladin or Warrior fully decked out in tier 2 or tier 3. It could also be the fact that it's the song used in the cinematic... probably the first cinematic that most of us saw upon playing the game for the first time so it definitely holds nostalgia for most people. It's definitely one of the better songs on this soundtrack.

Track 29: Graveyard
After listening to the entire album, I actually had to go back and listen to a few more songs to actually pick out another one that I really liked. This one stood out to me. Again, another short song but hauntingly beautiful despite the fact that most of us hearing this are trying to run back to our body as quick as possible!

Track 1: The Burning Legion
When I hear this song, my tummy gets a little tingle in it. This is the song I remember the most because it was on the BC loading screen. This song is the song that brings back a ton of memories for me. I think BC will always be my favorite time in WoW (as of this far), so this song definitely meant a lot to me!

Track 15: Illidan

Illidan... where do I begin. This song reminds me of something that should be in an opera. Very dark, very sinister. Illidan is one of my favorite characters in WoW lore. If you have never read up about him, I suggest you do so as soon as possible! I'd love to see him redeemed someday.

Track 21: Lament of The Highborne
I tried to pick two songs from each album, but I couldn't pass this one up. I don't want to talk about it to much because I want to do an exploration post dedicated to this song, quest, and lore in the game involving it. There is something hauntingly beautiful about the Banshee Queen singing this. I always get chills hearing this.

Track 3: Arthas, My Son
I don't think there is anything I can say about this song except that it's amazing. Also, the trailer for WoTLK is my favorite of all time. I love how it has King Terenas Menethil voiced over telling a young Arthas how he would be King one day while we're watching the monster he was raising his undead forces.

Unknown Track: Northrend Travel Music
While I enjoyed the rest of the album, I couldn't find another song on there that I could listen to over and over. I was sad to see that this song never made it onto the album, but it was added during WotLK. I don't know about for Alliance, but for Horde, this song plays when you board the Zeppelin to the Howling Fjord.

Track 2: Xaxas
Xaxas: means "chaos", "fury" or "elemental fury" in Darnassian. I think this describes the horror that was Deathwing perfectly. I still wish we saw his human form more. That model was amazing looking. Despite what most people say, I enjoyed Cataclysm also. It's where I ended up going back to each zone and experiencing the new leveling content added. I think most people were just too dumb to realize that's where Blizzard put more of their hard work into.

Track 17: Nightsong
When I hear this song, I think of the Sisterhood of Elune gathered around and singing this song in honor of her. Although Night Elves are my most disliked race in the game, I think this song is beautiful.

Track 6: Way of the Monk

This song right here has to be my second favorite song out of Warcraft entirely. I have no idea why, but the first time I fell in love with it I was questing in the Paoquan Hollow of Valley of the Four Winds. It only plays a small amount of it so after I heard the entire song I was left speechless. I hope I can listen to this song years from now and remember the magic of Pandaria!

Track 17: The Golden Lotus

The last song for this post is completely appropriate to what's going to be happening in 5.4 I hear this song and I think of a beautiful Vale filled with wildlife and flourishing plant life. Garrosh has already began to destroy it and once 5.4 hits it won't look the same at all. I can't wait to get Garrosh out of the true Horde and help rebuild all the destruction we did to Pandaria.

I hope I've inspired those who haven't listened to the soundtracks (or did a long time ago), to give them a listen. I also hope that I've made some people want to play a bit more with the music on. I love a game that is filled with so many sights and sounds to completely immerse you into the game play. WoW definitely never disappoints to feed my ears with beautiful sounds. I always look forward to new expansions and the new music that will be added with them!

Loramus and Velgana

I stood on a rock in the middle of the Bay of Storms. I knew I wasn't crazy, it used to be here. There once was an island I used to frequent quite a bit. I'd fish, it had a cave that housed a turtle named Scalebeard, and an out of the way Demon Hunter who called himself Loramus Thalipedes. I always asked about why is was out in the middle of Azshara, but he never told me much. He'd watch me fish, I'd ask questions about his weapons and blindfold. He told me he had magical powers; he said he could see demons and could sense things about me that most couldn't. He carved his own eyes out. I was always intrigued by Demon Hunters - I made comments about maybe one day seeing the world as he saw it. He told me it was more of a curse than a gift.

After many years of adventuring, I found battles with many Demon Hunters, but I never forgot my "friend". Then the Cataclysm came and changed everything. The island was no longer there. Where had Loramus gone? I decided to find him and maybe see if I could learn anything from him now that am a more seasoned mage. I didn't know where to begin, so I poured through a few books spitting out last known locations of a few Demon Hunters in Ashara. My search took me to Duskwood first.

Rumor was the ghost of a Demon Hunter named Telarius Voidstrider resided deep under the Maw of the Void. I managed to find him, but when I asked of his fellow brother, he looked at me and said, "You are not of the dark path! You do not belong here, Undead. The shadows will consume you. You are not prepared to face the void."

That's really all I needed to hear, and after re evaluating my situation, I promptly left. I didn't want to be fighting a Demon Hunter in a dark underwater cavern.

My next stop took me deep within Felwood. I met with a Demon Hunter named Feronas Sindweller. He told me that Loramus was killed in Blasted Lands while hunting a demon named Razelikh; his body torn apart and scattered across the land. However, he was lucky because an adventurer was able to gather the parts to make him whole again.

Finally my searching paid off, and I made my way to the Blasted Lands as fast as I could. It wasn't hard to find him. I just asked around the Sunveil Excursion until someone answered me.

I found him, to the back of a cave. He was in hiding and I didn't blame him. I didn't have to say a word, he knew why I had came all this way to find him again. I wanted to see the world through his eyes. I would never become a Demon Hunter... I was undead. While not the same that they hunted, I was still looked down upon. He handed me a potion and a blindfold. He told me to drink, "This potion, Velgana, will grant you temporary blindness and a glimpse of the terrors I see. After you take it, place the blindfold around your eyes." I took the potion without hesitation and did as he asked. Before I knew it, the world changed right before me.

It didn't last long, but I imagine it hurt just as bad as if my eyes were cut out. I could smell the demons; I could smell the rot on myself and around me. I felt sick and sorry all at the same time. I looked upon the Blasted Lands for a while. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. I could actually see the demons around and almost beyond the Dark Portal - I could sense them! Before I knew it, I was back in the cave and everything was back to normal. I looked at Loramus in a different light than before. He put his head down and placed his hand on my shoulder. After a brief pause, I removed my blindfold, looked at him, then simply left. No words were exchanged, but we both knew that would be the last time we would see one another.

I honestly think what brought us together in the beginning was a lot more than just me fishing. I think it was the fact of just having someone else around who viewed the world a bit differently than others.

On our island back during the Burning Crusades

Note: The potion used was Four Senses Brew (which has nothing to do with Demon Hunters). Also, this was written just for fun. Simply read and enjoy!

Exploration Tales: South Sea Islands

Way before the Cataclysm came and changed the world of Azeroth, there was a little island that was unknown by many. It sat just off the coast of Tanaris and was pretty difficult to get to. Back then you couldn't fly around Azeroth, so you had to use other clever means to get there.

Ignore the white path... this map was used for mining.
Here is an old map of Tanaris. It's crazy how much the world has changed. This was back before Uldum was a zone. I remember the first time I visited the area. It was just a broken down door with these huge (possibly elite?) Sandstone Golem's patrolling around the area. The islands weren't listed on the map, but if you stood on Land's End Beach, you could easily see them.

Anyway, the islands served no purpose other than if you were on the Scepter of the Sands quest. There was a lonely Naga woman named Meridith the Mermaiden who would give you a quest called Love Song for Narain. Upon completion she would buff you with Siren's Song which let you get to the isles the proper way to continue on your AQ quest chain (Draconic for Dummies).

I was such a young mage at the time, only level 70, and I really had no means of getting there. I was not on the quest, but I wanted to visit so bad since I first eyed up the islands. After doing some fishing dailies for Old Man Barlo, I realised that the Elixir of Water Walking I was getting from him would serve me well. I ended up barely getting to the island by using those elixirs and blink.

It was a nice little spot. It looked like it used to be home of a Goblin fishing village that was since then abandoned... maybe because of pirates? Maybe they moved to Gadgetzan?

Goblin buildings
Definitely signs of fishermen living there
Other that fishing or taking some screenshots, there was really nothing else for me to do there. It just felt really great as another thing to cross off my list of places to see. Sadly, the islands aren't in the game anymore... nor the Naga woman, or even the AQ quest. I would have loved to go back with the ease of flying in Azeroth and explore it again. Hopefully Blizzard adds more islands in later expansions; if you look at old maps of the South Seas, you never know what we shall find in those oceans!

Blog Azeroth: WoW Collections

I have finally signed up to Blog Azeroth. I love the fact that they have a weekly topic posted that you can blog about. It gives me new content to discuss without having to keep saying the same things over and over. I just have never been too great with posting on forums, so I doubt I will really contribute much on the site. Anyway, here was this weeks question:

"World of Warcraft has added many different items for players to collect, whether it be collecting pets, mounts, transmog gear or knickknacks about the lore. This week’s topic asks what you do collect in the game and what is your prized item from that collection?"

I know I touched on this subject on a post last year, but I went more into detail of older, non obtainable items that I have. As far as collecting goes... I collect it all! Seriously, Vel is one of those characters that keeps it because you never know when she might need it.

I started off in BC with a huge collection of mini pets. Before you could learn them, you would have to keep the physical item in your bags to summon it. It got so bad that my entire bank was filled with them. Thank goodness for the "pet tab" now. I have almost 500 of them, but my most prized pet would have to be my Emerald Whelp. I used to spend long hours farming for it in Swamp of Sorrows. I never got it to drop, but I finally bought one at the beginning of WotLK for 5k, eek.

In Wrath, I became more obsessed with mount and tabard collecting. I bought a lot of TCG packs to try to get loot, and at the end I had so many I was able to redeem myself a Tabard of the Void. It's still a very nice tabard that I use whenever I'm wearing a dark set. It's probably my second favorite tabard right behind Tabard of the Argent Dawn (for obvious reasons of course).

Now as far as mounts go, I will probably sound really cliché by saying this, but my Ashes of Al'ar is my most prized mount. I don't even care that a ton of people have it now... I love it because it reminds me of late night Tempest Keep runs with my friends to try and get transmog gear and telling stories of the past xpacs and raids. I never thought I would see this thing drop, much less legitimately win the roll. That mount means so much to me. <3

Titles! I almost forgot about titles! I didn't raid during Wrath, but I always wanted to kill Arthas. He has one of my favorites stories lore wise and ICC is still filled with some of the coolest bosses (imo). I ended up getting into am Arthas kill during Cata just so I could get my "the Kingslayer" title. Something about that title just gives me the chills. I have no idea why, but I love it so much. My second favorite title is "of the Shattered Sun". Both me and my boyfriend got that title back in BC from grinding out all those dailies to get exalted. It was also rare to see someone with it because it cost 1k... which was still quite a good bit of gold back then.

Finally I leave you with transmog. I cannot tell you how excited I was when Illidan dropped Cowl of the Illidari Highlord. I ended up spending a good bit of time making a really pretty set around it. It's definitely my all time favorite transmog set (I have a thing for BC of course).

There are some other items that I REALLY like, but sadly I don't have a sword yet and we could be here all day with me going through them all, hah.

I also wanted to say after all the headache that the "new" Photobucket has been causing me, I've decide to switch all of my photos over to Dropbox. They are all there, I just haven't had a chance to organize them a bit better. I'd like to have my Moonguard pictures separate from everything since that is a whole different story in itself. Please feel free to visit the new home of my screenshots: World of Picturecraft.

August 3, 2012

I'm still here! Velgana has just been taking it extremely this summer. I've managed to finish collecting some mounts and mini pets I wanted. The only think I really have left is the Mysterious Camel from Uldum. That will come in time. I just wanted to be done with everything before Mists of Pandaria comes out. So far, it's working pretty well.

Item Hoarder

First I would like to congratulate my alt, Eiram for getting the Reins of the Fiery Warhorse before I got it on my main. When I looted it, I had a rush of joy then a fast jolt of dissappointment. I am determined to get it!

Next I have come to terms with the fact that I am a hoarder in the world of Azeroth. I was checking through and cleaning up bags on my main and alts, and I came upon a list of things that I kept that the normal person should (or would) have thrown away. Now I have emotional attachment to these things and I most definitely cannot let them go! Hopefully they will be in my bags forever.
Rune of the Dawn

Mallet of Zul'Farrak: I had this on my priest alt (the one in the picture above). I have no idea why I did the quest way back when for it, but I'm glad I kept it all these years. It makes for good transmog since Eiram is a troll and all that.

On Velgana I have all of those things from the Lich King event including:
Argent Tome, Haunted Momento, Monster Slayers Kit, Argent War Horn, Argent Dawn Banner, and the set Blessed Regalia of Undead Cleansing which also includes the Tabard of the Argent Dawn.

Seal of Ascension: I'm not sure, but if I remember right this may have been the ring to get you into one of the Blackrock Spire dungeons.

Spectral Essence: Just an item rom a quest that was in the Plagulands. I think it allows you to see a few different ghostly npcs including a vendor that sells a few old patterns.

Faded Photograph: While I love the redo of Ungoro Crater, I wish they would have left in the Linken questline. This is all I have left of it. /tear

I was also extremely excited for Noblegarden since I never did it on my main. I got the title last year (I believe) for my twink who is highly neglected. :( I just didn't think I would be done in a day. The mount dropped out of an egg for me in my first 10 minutes or so of farming. So I've been running around on the Swift Springstrider with my robes, bunny ears, and egg basket on just to get into the season. Also, all of the extra Spring Rabbit's I found in eggs were just given away to people who didn't have them yet. I hope you are all having as much fun as me.

March 10, 2012

Oh, I fogot to update that the day after I got the Time-Lost Proto Drake, I started camping Deepholm for Aeonaxx. At around 6:30pm on 3.6.2012, I logged on, NPC scanned popped, I battled Aeonaxx and he gave me a mount.

Now I'm spending my time circling Uldum and drowning in Vashj'ir. I have hope of course. :)

And I now own this shirt from J!NX.

March 5, 2012

I really cannot complain about the past few weeks. Luck has been very good to me since I acquired the Ashes of Al'ar from Tempest Keep. I really lucked out on that since it was my first time killing Kael'Thas Sunstrider on my mage (I was usually forced to heal). You can imagine my excitement; Now I'm forced to really only use it by Pigle and Inepsy, but I don't mind.

I also lucked out and received Reins of the Azure Drake from Malygos. Our little group has now started farming certain places weekly for mounts and transmog gear. I have a good feeling Onyxia may drop her mount next, but I may not be so lucky this time.

As you know, Vel has been farming Time Lost Proto-Drake for quite some time now. Recently, a hunter (I'm not naming, but I do have the screenshot of the conversation saved) has been in Storm Peaks. I never care who is there, because I believe it's all based on luck who would get the kill on it first. They decide to message me a few times, and I'm not one to talk to people I don't know, so I didn't. They then proceeded to call me a bot and say they were going to report me, which we all know is a load of crap. I wonder why they would even falsely accuse someone on Ashes of Al'ar with the Loremaster title and a really good transmog set about being a bot... whatever. They pissed me off so I wrote a few lines calling them a few undesirable names and telling them if they knew anything about camping rare spawns, they would have NPC Scan (shame on them being a hunter without it too).

For those of you unfamiliar with it, it scans the areas that the rares are supposed to spawn in. If they are up, you can set a certain noise and raid marker to pop up. This makes things easy, because you can /afk in a spawn point and just listen for the sound to pop up.

Anyway, the person logged after I accused them of being a bot for not talking back to me. A few minutes later they logged back on telling me they just downloaded npc scan, silver dragon, and overlay. Of course I ignored, because I was still peeved. I found out they are in one of my wow-besties guild. We laughed about it, and I moved on with my life. Last night while doing my Argent Tournament dailies, I had to go back to Storm Peaks. I used the flight master at Crusaders' Pinnacle which sends me on a drake that looks very similar to TLPD. I get a few more annoying messages from them asking when I got the mount and blah blah blah. So needless to say I was tired of being annoyed by them and put them on ignore. It takes a lot for me to put someone on ignore, but seriously do you need to message everyone in the area?

Today I logged on to do my Darkmoon Faire dailies; I purchased Darkmoon Zeppelin and plan on getting Darkmoon Tonk before it's gone. I took off to Ice Crown to do my same Argent Tournament dailies, but not before circling Storm Peaks to check. I see nothing so I logged on to Wowhead for a few minutes to read a few more words of encouragement. I take off to fly to the tournament ground and behold... TLPD pops up on my screen. I kill him, hands shaking, I take a few screenshots and equip my mount. The WoW Gods definitely ruled in favor of someone who was camping it longer than that nubby hunter. :)

Killed 3.5.2012 at about 12:47pm on Skywall US

So that's pretty much my good luck so far. I could write a ton more, but I need to figure out if I want to do some Archaeology or play Xbox now.

February 7, 2012

Vel stays so busy with holiday things, that I've hardly had time to do anything else; Not to mention I've also been working weird shifts. I'm finally getting back into my normal WoW routine. I decided to take on changing from Oracles to Frenzyheart... also Scryer to Aldor even though that will take a LOT longer. My Hydraxian Waterlord rep has also slowed down a great deal since I can only get it from killing bosses now. I am persistent and shall get this though! For Lunar Festival I managed to get both lanterns. I just need to find the right time to get my Alliance one to me. I'm very sketchy about putting stuff up on neutral auction house. :/

Love is in the Air began this week along with the Darkmoon Faire. I bought one more pet, Darkmoon Turtle to add to my collection. I'm still crossing my fingers that I will get the Toxic Wasteling so I can cross him off my list. I'm not really lucky. I also wouldn't mind the Big Love Rocket even though I am guaranteed to get the Love Bird mount. I don't think I participated much in the Love event last year because I was a bit confused. I have no idea why... maybe I just didn't want to read.

Before I go, please say a quick chant for me to get my LFR headpiece this week. I want to wear my full set. Also if Illidan could drop the cowl I always wanted, that would be great. /crossesfingers

January 10, 2012

Holy crap... it's a new year! I've really been meaning to get a post on this thing, but I've been really bad about it. I won't sit here and go through all the new things I've gotten, but they do include mounts, mini pets, and loads of new gear which is changing each week with LFR and Valor.

I am very excited about my friend joining WoW again. Welcome back Inepsy, me and Pigle missed you oh so very much. <3 We've been working on making him gear and power leveling him through Lich King. He will probably hit 80 either tomorrow or Thursday which is really good for him starting back up a week or so ago.

I would love to post a bunch of amazing screenshots in this post, but out internet is extremely bad so if I tried to, I would make Pigle lag which isn't good since he's running Dragon Soul at the moment. So I shall leave you with an armory photo of my current transmog set which I am extremely proud of!

I PROMISE to keep track of my ongoing in Azeroth a little better this year. I might even be able to muster up another post this weekend. *gasps*

December 12, 2011

Sorry, it's been a good three weeks since patch 4.3 hit. I was supposed to blog about it last week, but I got a little carried away with things. So far in 4.3 I managed to get one piece of LFR gear, and a bunch from the new dungeons. I'm slowly working on getting valor points every week to get my new valor gear. I didn't really have a bad experience yet in the dungeons... I have to keep remembering that some people are new, but I did have a bad experience in LFR last week. I will have to keep in mine to NOT run on Tuesday or perhaps even Wednesday, because elitist are trying to get their run in before the weekend. I've had more luck running with nicer people on Friday/Saturday.

The newly revamped Darkmoon Faire was amazing. I did my dailies everyday, and tried to run the old dungeons for those artifacts. I didn't manage to get any, so I couldn't buy anything that I really wanted this month. Next month I shall be able to afford one of the new mini pets. I cannot wait! Here are two shots of Vel playing around at the Faire...

Vel with a freshly caught Sea Pony mini pet!

I'm still doing Argent Tournament, but I did get another mount. That brings me to just needing two mounts, a tabard, and the Argent Pony Bridle. I'm done after and can find new dailies to do. I also started searching for rare spawns in Outlands and Northrend. I want to get those achievements for myself. Still no sign of the Time Lost Proto-Drake. /sigh

Time to work on some things to prepare for Winter Veil starting soon. Hopefully next time I write, me and Vel will be ringing in 2012. :)

November 28, 2011

I'm prepping for patch 4.3 today. Vel is a busy little bee. I am going to organize my bank and go through what I want to keep and get rid of for Void Storage tomorrow. Ultimately I would like all of my old gear to go in there and my banks to be used to cosmetic items, cool quest things, and unique tabards. My guild bank is where I store my crafting materials and extra stuff I usually eventually sell on Auction House. I'm pretty organized already, because I'm ocd about that type of stuff, but I don't want to be overwhelmed tomorrow.

Since I last blogged, Skywall has been shoved in the role of being a "New Player" server. I have NEVER seen so many gold sellers spamming trade chat, lag, new people, and stupid names in my entire WoW life. I have also never been in a que to log in since Wrath of the Lich King. That doesn't bother me as much as the some of the new players. To those who are really doing their part on Skywall as new players who love the game... May your leveling experience be as epic as ever. To those just polluting our population, go drown in the Great Sea. :)

I am currently up to 89 mounts. I am still doing my Argent Tournament dailies to get the other few things I need. When the patch hits live tomorrow, I will definitely be bringing that number up to 90 with the addition of Tyrael's Charger. After all of the organization and madness tomorrow afternoon, I hope my boyfriend has time to run the new 5 mans with me. I just hope I don't have that extremely overwhelmed feeling I usually have after a patch. :/

And one other thing before I go, I FINALLY won the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby that earned me the "Salty" title. I chose Boots of the Bay. Here is a picture of my achievement.

I've been so busy lately. Since I last blogged, Vel has added a few more mounts to her arsenal. You can see them HERE. That brings my total up to 73, which is great because I never thought I would make it this far! The Time Lost Proto Drake still escapes me. I will have him soon... I'm determined.

I forgot to post my favorite screenshot while I was working on the Loremaster title. It was in Un'Goro Crater that I was saddened to find my favorite Bloodsprout eating dino had passed. Of course I left a pile at his grave in memory of all the run times I had there in the past.

My wonderful boyfriend also bought me a Guardian Cub. I was very surprised since I never expected him to get me something so wonderful! I did dailies with him out for a week, then all my other mini pets started to get jealous. :)

So now, I am patiently waiting for patch 4.3. I'm excited to participate in the Darkmoon Faire and the new 5 mans. To keep the game fresh, I rolled an Alliance on an RP server. It's definitely different and needless to say, very interesting. I actually coaxed my boyfriend to join me on my journey. I figured with a year pass up both our sleeves, we need to keep doing different things. This was the perfect way to keep an old game very new and fun for us.

October 23, 2011

Soooooo, this weekend was Blizzcon 2011. Even though I wasn't able to go once again, I did manage to get to watch the live streaming of it. I have to say that I am overall impressed with the changed that will be coming with the new expansion... The Mists of Pandaria. I was waiting for the community backlash, and sure enough it came through with full force. The way I'm going into it is that I don't think Blizzard will disappoint. I'm going to be optimistic of all the new things coming and going. My whole outlook on the new expansion is that you can't hate it at least until you try it. Blizzard has never disappointed me yet, and I highly doubt they will be now. I just wish people would go read up on lore instead of saying the Pandaren are a joke race and comparing them to Kung Fu Panda every 5 seconds. Also, if you think this is messing up your all so serious game, like many have said, walking cows and wolves, feminine male elves, blue space goats, and little gnomes with hot pink hair... I rest my case. My recommendation would be to just sit back and enjoy the ride. :)

I already picked out a name in case I would like to give the Pandaren monk a try; It's Lijuan which should roughly mean beautiful and graceful. I hope. heh.

I know this isn't Warcraft news, but it pertains to it. I am thinking about getting the Annual Pass to be able to play Diablo 3 and the beta of Pandaria. I wouldn't be losing anything from it since I pay for a monthly WoW subscription anyway. I might even go crazy enough and get the collectors edition of it so I can get the beautiful things that come with it. I would really LOVE to get a beta key since I'm still on the fence.

I'm still trying for The Horseman's Reins. I did get my Creepy Crate, Little Wickerman, and Feline Familiar. I also managed to FINALLY get my title Loremaster! It's definitely a big deal. Now I'm working on random achievements, reputation, and collecting mounts. This is a good thing to keep my interested in my main in between working on my alts.

also, Murkablo is adorable. *squee*

I've had a few new things happen to me in the last few days. I ran Zul'Aman for the second time and managed to get my two pieces to drop for me: Jan'alai's Spaulders and Collar of Bones.

We were about 1 minute off from the mount run. I blame it on the tank because he stalled a good bit. Next I need to read up stragedy and get the courage to run Zul gurub. I really don't need anything from there, but if the mounts drop I will roll. I really want the Lashtail Hatchling though.

Mr. Coren Direbrew wasn't good to Vel. I never managed to get a mount on my main. Maybe next year...
I am very excited for Hallows End though. Headless Horseman here I come! :D

I've continued to work on Loremaster. Today I managed to get exalted with Tranquillen, which only means I need to get exalted with five more reputations to get the title "Exalted". I'll continue on my journey of "Loremaster" and doing my Argent tournament dailies for the mounts. SO MUCH COLLECTING!!!

And lastly, I think I may have talked my niece into starting to play. She was downloading the game for the past day or so... today it should be finished. We need more dedicated people to play with for when 4.3 comes out! Dragon Soul or bust!

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying Brewfest. I have yet to get one of the mounts on my main. I will run it everyday in hopes of getting something! I did manage to get the Mithril Stopwatch on Vel and Eiram along with Petrified Pickled Egg for her also. I am not that impressed by the Mithril Stopwatch because I didn't get a chance to mess around with it or reforge or whatever to it. I am, however, extremely impressed by the adorable Brewfest Keg Pony which I must have in my bags at all times to serve me beer when needed! Me and Pig ate lots of cheese, pretzels, and sausage... of course we drank lots of BEER!

The Overflowing Purple Brewfest Stein is my favorite stein so far. Hopefully they will add an achievement for it. I have the other two. I'm totally jelous Pig has Yellow Brewfest Stein though!

I finally got around to petitioning a GM this past week to see if I could get my "Zandalari Menace" quest line restored to me since I glitched it out. I was so happy with the result, and the GM was extremely nice. He sent me a wonderful reply which was VERY helpful. When I logged on, I had the quest sitting there, ready for me to go, and my character was in the exact place I had to be. Having that happen just made me feel like getting my little panther cub was just that much more special. <3 I'm happy to have him as part of my collection.

I am very optimistic about patch 4.3. I love the way every single one of the tier 13 sets looks. The dungeons are looking wonderful. The raid sounds to be fun even though I will probably never experience it. I may use the raid finder, but I'm not going to be expecting much. It should be refreshing. I try to never look at these things as negative... that's why I hate reading most forum topics. People always bitch and that annoys me.

And finally, today I witnessed stupidity first hand. I wish I had the names of the people who did it because it would definitely be worth it to call them out for being dumb asses. The rare spawn spirit beast Ban'thalos was up. I've seen him there about five times already probably because I am not and do not have a hunter. It took about ten or so minutes before everyone was gathering in the sky just staring at it. No one was pulling it... I would have been more than glad to help a fellow Hordie out... BUT NO... Alliance decided to pull it down and finally kill it. I watched this night elf druid pull it several times and die. Finally I guess they convinced their friend to help them kill it instead of helping one of the Alliance hunters that were around. It's a good thing they managed to kill it, because I'm sure that nubby druid's repair bill was more than the measly 25g worth item he drops. If I were Alliance, I would definitely feel very ashamed. And for all you hunters, Vel would love to offer warm mana cakes and hugs. Your day will come and that wonderful spirit beast will be yours. ;) Don't give up!

I hadn't had the chance to update for a while. I totally took advantage of the Alterac Valley PvP weekend last week. I was able to get Stormrider's Raiment, Stormrider's Grips, and Embrace of the Night for my druid along with some Molten Front rewards. Last night I unlocked another vendor. I just have one left before I can start doing them on my priest. I find that if I work on one toon at a time, I'm not as overwhelmed. The PvP weekends are a great way to get fast Justice Point conversions. I also want to start working on my PvP set for Velgana, but there's other things I need to do first, so that is definitely being pushed back to last.

I am currently working on Loremaster. I think I'm going to lose my sanity. I have about 20 more quests left in Icecrown before I'm completely finished with Northrend. I'm not really looking forward to searching Easter Kingdoms and Kalimdor for the rest. Other than that, still collecting gear to be ready for transmogging. ;) I believe we may also have some more friends to play with soon. Hopefully everything ends up falling into place. We shall just have to see!

Also, just a little note to congratulate Osmosis of Skywall. One of their mages received Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest tonight. I'm totally jealous and definitely wish it was me ;) Seriously though, congrats guys.

Orgrimmar is still glowing with the presence of the blue dragon flight. I was glad I was able to witness such an event. I think it might be Horde first, but I am not sure. Still, with all the dragons flying around the trade channel nubs keep asking, "wtf is going on here?".

Transmog!

So, Blizzard informed everyone today that the Transmogrifier will definitely be there to "change the appearance of any armor piece on you, while retaining the stats of your current gear". You can read more about it on MMO Champion HERE.

This makes me extremely happy since I still have some of my old raiding gear... mainly Kara pieces and some stuff from SSC, The Eye, and Hyjal. I did manage to somehow sell my Spellstrike Hood which took me though BC raiding (Void Reaver was a bitch and never dropped that helm I wanted!). Also, I had really bad luck with getting pieces of tier to drop... I still have the same bad luck now that you can two man or solo most places. DKP was also a bitch.

I also have a set of tier 1, but that doesn't make me really special. My few pieces of dungeon 1 might though, hah. I did manage to put together a nice little set from some PvP hood/shoulder, old school blue cloak, BC weapons, and my current Cata tier. I wouldn't want to completely change my look, just improve on it. I think I'm going to like this. :)

I have a new Horde shirt coming to me possibly (hopefully) tomorrow. My other one was faded and a bit tighter. I love J!NX and everything they put out, so I couldn't pass it up!

Cannot wait to wear this!

Nothing else to talk about. Me and little Velly gonna PvP later.

AWE NUTS!

Back from the Void

So here I am again. I haven't wrote about Velgana's adventures since the end of Burning Crusades. Lich King seemed to last forever. It was fun, but I am glad it was over. I think I had some of the most fun ever while questing in Cataclysm. Chad, but I will always address him as Piglet, has started building computers, so I have the latest and greatest in graphics cards and what not. The game is beautiful. the updated that keep getting rolled out are wonderful. I even started leveling up a Golbin because the redesigned starting areas are wonderful. I love the way quest flow throughout a region even though phasing can sometimes be a little wonky. I know these are all old things I'm talking about, but I have a lot to catch up on.

Today Blizzard released this little sneak screenshot which includes vendors called "void storage" and "transmogrifier". I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but I'm hoping it's a different kind of storage and something to change the looks of our armor.... not just a bank and barber shop. :|

As of late, Vel and Pig haven been running lots of old heroics and gathering up stuff we wished we had way back when. we've also been PvPing. Justice Points FTW. Just look at that sexy Firelord's Robes & Firelord's Leggings!

WTF, I STILL look better as an Undead. Power to the Forsaken!

You'll be hearing a lot more of me here than my real life blog. My real life is boring... I'm more entertaining as a mage.
