It was too late though... before we knew it, we were being overrun by an elemental invasion! This signaled the return of Deathwing and the beginning of the cataclysm. The world had been changed!
When the Cataclysm hit, Vel was very excited. Quite a bit of my friends returned to play the game, and Pigletoos renewed his account. I LOVED the idea of being able to raid without dedicating myself to an actually raid group. LFR was made for me, even though Vel still would have liked it to be a bit more of a challenge.
Another event happend a few months after the Shattering, and it involved the Darkspear Trolls. The Trolls fought to keep the Darkspear Isles there own, and Vel helped them to defend what was rightfully theirs! This mini event reintroduced an updated Zul Gurub and Zul Aman to the game.
Vel killed trolls of ZA/ZG, and traveled to the past, present, and future in the End Time instances to help protect the world from the wrath of Deathwing. I had a pretty nice set of epics for someone who was now a casual player.
The Deathwing raid was pretty good. I think it had some of the best looking mage tier ever. Vel was able to get her whole set from LFR which I still hold onto for transmog. The fights weren't difficult at all in LFR. I do wish that Deathwing's fight was more epic. It lasted way too long and all you could really see was his big claws or big head plopped down on the rock. I still wish his human form would have been incorporated somewhere in there. Also, this picture pretty much sums up the rest of the Cataclysm expansion for me and I'm sure many other...
